Boadilla del Monte, to the west of Madrid, is a peaceful retreat close to the city. Considered one of Spain’s safest municipalities, with one of the country’s lowest crime rates, it invites residents to leave stress behind and enjoy 800 hectares of green space crossed by streams and the River Guadarrama. After substantial growth over the past 15 years, this is now a well-established area with a stable population and fully developed services. Sports facilities support a healthy lifestyle, while the town centre and residential developments have been extensively renewed. New villa projects increasingly favour contemporary design. Boadilla del Monte also ranks among the Spanish municipalities with the highest income per capita, behind only Pozuelo.
The town offers many places worth visiting, including the neoclassical palace built by Ventura Rodríguez for Infante Luis de Borbón, which once served as a workshop for Francisco de Goya. It also has one of the widest restaurant selections in the Madrid region, with 132 establishments, as well as golf courses and other leisure options. Its success is also explained by its proximity to shopping areas, its range of educational institutions —including bilingual schools and Universidad San Pablo CEU— and excellent connections with Madrid via the M-50, M-40 and A-6.
